Southwest Windpower to Exhibit at Cheyenne Frontier Days

CHEYENNE, Wyo., July 12, 2011 — Southwest Windpower, the world’s leading manufacturer of personal wind generators, will exhibit at Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD), the largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration in the United States from July 22-31. Visit the company’s outdoor booth located alongside local Southwest Windpower wind turbine dealer and installer, WyCo Wind & Solar. Southwest Windpower will join in celebrating western heritage by showcasing one of the wild west’s greatest features – wind.

Southwest Windpower’s exhibit will give the show’s on average, nearly 200,000 visitors an up-close look at the world’s best selling battery charging wind turbine line – Air – as well as the company’s award winning Skystream grid connected personal wind turbine. On Sat., June 23, KRRR-FM’s Cowboy Bob will be live on air at Southwest Windpower’s booth from noon to 2 p.m., with giveaways and contests including “guess the wind velocity.” Grand prize giveaways include two sets of concert tickets for Motley Crue’s show on Wed., July 27 and Toby Keith with Eric Church on Sat., July 30.

“Originally created to solve the need for small, reliable battery charging wind generators in supplying energy to rural areas of the world, Southwest Windpower has pioneered new technologies to make renewable energy simple, reliable and efficient,” said Andy Kruse, co-founder and senior vice president of marketing at Southwest Windpower. “We’re excited to showcase at Frontier Days this year because these are products that show visitors can really take advantage of. “

According to the American Wind Energy Association, Wyoming added the seventh most new wind capacity in 2010 and currently ranks tenth in overall installed capacity. The wind power installed in Wyoming could avoid 2.8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.1 Currently there are two Skystream wind turbines installed at the Wyoming Campground, along with hundreds more throughout the state. Five Skystream 3.7 turbines are being installed at the new Wyoming Welcome Center.

“This area is great for harnessing wind energy. We’re thrilled to show the community how personal wind turbines can provide an affordable solution to help reduce their electricity bills and impact on the environment,” continued Kruse.

Qualified small wind turbine consumers can take advantage of a 30 percent Federal tax credit on the turbine, in addition to local and state incentives that may apply.
